Founding Story
Home Centre was founded in 1995 in Sharjah, UAE, by Renuka Jagtiani. As a key executive within the Landmark Group (founded by her husband Micky Jagtiani), she noticed a massive void in the Middle Eastern market. While the region had high-end luxury furniture boutiques and incredibly cheap, unbranded local markets, there was absolutely no middle-ground offering stylish, affordable, and quality home furnishings in a modern retail environment. She launched Home Centre to directly fill this gap, effectively creating the 'IKEA alternative' for the Arab world.

Micky Jagtiani
Mukesh 'Micky' Jagtiani founded Landmark Group with a single store in Bahrain in 1973 and built it into one of the Middle East's largest retail groups. Home Centre was launched under the group in 1995. He died in 2023. Micky Jagtiani was born in 1952.
Renuka Jagtiani
Renuka Jagtiani founded Home Centre in 1995 as a strategic expansion of her husband Micky Jagtiani's retail empire (the Landmark Group). Recognizing a massive gap in the Middle Eastern market for stylish but affordable home furnishings (before IKEA dominated the region), she personally conceptualized and launched the brand in Sharjah, UAE, building it into the region's absolute largest home retailer.
