How this ranking is built

This ranking is built from the company records on CorpDigest rather than from a separate list file, so a figure here cannot disagree with the figure on the company's own profile. Each company contributes its most recently reported annual revenue — the fiscal year that company last closed, not a shared calendar year — which is why every row below carries its own FY label.

Companies that report in a currency other than the US dollar are converted at approximate 2025 average rates before they are ranked, and the row names the currency the company actually filed in. A converted figure is good enough to order companies by scale and not good enough to quote to the dollar; the as-reported amount stays in the underlying record.

Scope matters when reading any list of the largest companies. This one ranks the profiled companies that carry at least one sourced annual revenue figure, which covers the large listed multinationals and the state-owned producers that publish English-language annual reports. It is not a census of every large enterprise on earth, and it is not a profitability ranking: revenue measures throughput, so pharmaceutical and healthcare distributors legitimately outrank companies that earn several times their net income.
