In 1984, Muma partnered with George Dalton to merge First Data Processing with First Midwest Data, founding Fiserv. Muma guided Fiserv through its 1986 IPO and orchestrated over 100 successful technology acquisitions, establishing Fiserv as the preeminent core processor of the US banking industry before retiring in 1999.
