Founding Story
George D. Dalton was a visionary American fintech pioneer and the co-founder and original CEO of the massive financial processing giant Fiserv. Operating deep within the early banking technology sector in Milwaukee, Dalton famously helped develop the TYME ATM network, completely revolutionizing consumer banking access. Realizing that independent data processors needed to achieve massive national scale to survive, he partnered with Leslie M. Muma in 1984 to merge their respective firms into Fiserv. Serving as CEO from its inception until 2000, Dalton provided the highly aggressive corporate leadership required to take the company public in 1986. Under his massive executive direction, Fiserv fundamentally digitized the American banking system, laying the absolute groundwork for modern financial technology.
