How these sectors are grouped
These sectors use the same company groups as the industry reports they link to. The groups combine companies' recorded industries with editorial classification rules, so related descriptions such as software and cloud software can appear in one useful hub. A company can belong to a broad family and a more specific industry, so sector counts overlap and should not be added together.
Each sector links to a report with a full company directory and a revenue-ranked selection of profiles. The count on each card is the membership shown by that report, rather than a separate count of free-text industry labels. Sectors with only one profiled company are left off this page — a single-member group tells a reader nothing about a market — so this is a view of where the research is deep, not a map of the whole economy.
Revenue figures inside each sector come from the companies' own filings and annual reports, in the fiscal year each company last closed, converted to US dollars where the company reports in another currency. Comparisons within a sector are therefore reliable in order of magnitude and approximate at the margin, which is the right level of precision for deciding which company to read about next.
