Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is the ultra-luxury flagship of the BMW Group. Charles Stewart Rolls and Sir Henry Royce partnered in 1904 with the ambition of engineering the finest motor car in the world. Royce's obsessive mechanical perfectionism led to the creation of the 40/50 hp 'Silver Ghost' in 1906, celebrated for smoothness, reliability, and silent operation. Rolls provided aristocratic commercial acumen and motorsport promotion until his tragic death in an aviation accident in 1910.
