What Zepto does
Zepto is a Bengaluru-based quick-commerce company founded in 2021 by Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra. It delivers groceries, household essentials and Zepto Cafe food and drinks from neighbourhood dark stores. It had 1,139 of these stores as of 31 March 2026.
Financial performance
Revenue from operations rose from ~$517 million (₹4,454 crore) in FY24 to ~$1.29 billion (₹11,110 crore) in FY25 and ~$2.62 billion (₹22,624 crore) in FY26. The net loss widened from ~$545 million (₹4,700 crore) to ~$685 million (₹5,905 crore) over the last two of those years. In Q4 FY26, revenue grew 75% to ~$870 million (₹7,498 crore) and the adjusted EBITDA loss per order fell to ₹59.4 from ₹142.7 a year earlier. Advertising revenue reached ~$190 million (₹1,636 crore) in FY26.
Funding and IPO
Zepto has raised money from Nexus Venture Partners, StepStone, General Catalyst, Glade Brook and others. Its most recent confirmed round was $450 million at a $7 billion valuation in October 2025. It filed confidentially for an IPO in December 2025, received SEBI approval in May 2026 and filed an updated draft prospectus on 8 June 2026. That filing proposed a ~$929 million (₹8,010 crore) fresh issue plus an offer for sale in which neither founder sold shares. In late July 2026, Zepto delayed the listing over valuation and said it would raise pre-IPO funding first.
Risks
Zepto is still heavily loss-making. It competes with Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Flipkart and Amazon. The prospectus also disclosed an April 2026 Enforcement Directorate summons to the founders under FEMA.
