Jupiter Money (Amica Financial Technologies Private Limited) is the vanguard of India's digital neobanking revolution. Founded in 2019 by veteran payments entrepreneur Jitendra Gupta—who previously built payment gateway Citrus Pay and sold it to Naspers/PayU for $130 million in 2016 before serving as Managing Director of PayU India—Jupiter was born from a fundamental critique of traditional retail banking. Gupta observed that while Indian consumers enjoyed world-class consumer apps for food delivery (Swiggy), e-commerce (Flipkart), and ride-hailing (Uber), their daily banking experience remained trapped in the bureaucratic 1990s: paper branch visits, hidden annual debit card charges, unintelligible bank statements, and dreadful customer service. Partnering with licensed commercial banks (including Federal Bank and CSB Bank), Jupiter engineered a 100% paperless, mobile-first banking experience that opens a fully functional digital savings account in under three minutes. Featuring automated savings 'Pots', real-time spend categorization, the innovative 'Edge' RuPay credit card that allows card payments over UPI, and zero-commission wealth management, Jupiter has attracted over 3 million forward-thinking Indian professionals, standing as India's most loved digital financial app.
Jupiter Money operates a co-branded neobanking and financial services monetization model: earning interchange fee revenue on debit and credit card point-of-sale and online transactions, interest share on customer savings and fixed deposits held in partner banks (Federal Bank), loan origination fees and net interest margin spreads on personal credit lines and salary overdrafts, distribution commissions on direct mutual funds and digital gold, and premium tier subscription fees.
Jupiter navigates stringent Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulatory guidelines governing digital lending, co-branded credit cards, and non-bank digital wallets, managing deposit stickiness among young consumers, and competing with legacy banking apps (HDFC PayZapp, ICICI iMobile) and rival neobanks like Fi Money.
Jitendra Gupta currently leads Jupiter Money, overseeing strategic vision, balance sheet health, and organizational execution in FinTech, Digital Neobanking, Smart Savings Accounts, UPI Credit Cards & Consumer Wealth Management.
Under executive direction, Jupiter Money is prioritizing workflow automation alongside disciplined capital allocation to maximize shareholder value.
Leadership at Jupiter Money has historically navigated industry cycles by restructuring operational priorities and expanding competitive moats.
