Cerebras Systems: CEO History

In 2015, semiconductor pioneer Andrew Feldman and his engineering team asked a radical question: why do chipmakers spend billions slicing silicon wafers into tiny dies, only to spend billions more connecting them back together on printed circuit boards? Founding Cerebras, they set out to overcome forty years of semiconductor convention by manufacturing an entire silicon wafer as a single processor.

Cerebras operates a dual-stream hardware sales and cloud compute subscription business model. It manufactures and sells complete CS-3 supercomputer systems (including custom liquid cooling, power delivery, and internal networking) to national research laboratories, sovereign AI initiatives (such as UAE-backed G42), and defense agencies for multi-million-dollar upfront purchase and annual maintenance fees. In addition, Cerebras operates the Cerebras Inference Cloud, charging developers and enterprise customers per-token pricing to access high-speed open-source model inference (Llama, Mistral) at throughput rates exceeding 1,800 tokens per second, yielding expanding high-margin cloud compute cash flow.
