Gary Lauterbach is a brilliant hardware architect and co-founder of Cerebras Systems, serving as the primary architectural visionary behind the company's unprecedented Wafer-Scale Engine. Lauterbach has a long history of partnering with Andrew Feldman; he previously served as the founder and Chief Technology Officer of SeaMicro, where he engineered their revolutionary energy-efficient microserver architecture. When the team reunited to found Cerebras in 2016, Lauterbach led the massive, highly risky engineering effort to build a single chip out of an entire silicon wafer, solving immense technical hurdles related to cooling, power delivery, and manufacturing yield that the rest of the semiconductor industry deemed completely impossible.
