Financial summary
Bugatti Rimac
Bugatti Rimac is privately owned and does not publish consolidated revenue, profit or headcount, so revenue figures quoted for it elsewhere are estimates. The clearest public price signal is Porsche's exit: it received about $1.13 billion (€1 billion) for its 45 percent of Bugatti Rimac and its 20.6 percent of Rimac Group combined, and set aside ~$283 million (€250 million) of that for pension obligations. Bugatti's volumes are public in outline: about 100 cars a year, a record number built in 2025, and more than 1,100 delivered since the Veyron in 2005. At list price the 250-car Tourbillon run adds up to about $1.07 billion (€950 million) before options and taxes.

Business model and strategy
Bugatti Rimac
How it makes money
Bugatti Rimac earns money by building very few, very expensive cars and charging for personalisation. Mate Rimac said in August 2026 that Bugatti makes about 100 cars a year, and La Manufacture, the Molsheim building opened in July 2026, raises capacity to up to 200 a year.
Growth strategy
Growth comes from the Tourbillon run, deeper personalisation and more capacity rather than a volume model. Bugatti launched Programme Solitaire in August 2025 for two one-off cars a year, starting with the Brouillard coupé, and opened Tourbillon configuration with 23 new exterior colours and 20 leather combinations. La Manufacture roughly doubles what Molsheim can build.
Competitive advantage
Bugatti Rimac combines the Bugatti name, built on the Veyron, the Chiron and more than 1,100 cars delivered since 2005, with Rimac's in-house electric engineering. The Tourbillon pairs a Cosworth-engineered V16 with a battery, e-axles and control units engineered by Rimac Technology, so the hybrid system is not bought from an outside supplier.
Ferrari
How it makes money
Ferrari earns most of its money selling cars and spare parts (about 85% of 2025 net revenues), with the rest coming from sponsorship, commercial and brand income (Formula 1 sponsorships, F1 prize money, lifestyle and licensing) plus a small engines line.
Growth strategy
Ferrari's strategy is 'multi-energy': it sells combustion, plug-in hybrid and now fully electric cars side by side, built in-house at the e-building in Maranello that opened in June 2024. Growth comes from mix (hypercars such as the F80, the Purosangue and special series), personalization, sponsorship and lifestyle income, rather than from big volume increases.
Competitive advantage
Ferrari's absolute, unassailable competitive advantage is its large, mythological brand equity, completely tied to its history in Formula 1 racing. Since 1947, Ferrari has competed in almost every single Formula 1 race. The 'Prancing Horse' logo possesses a deep, emotional, almost religious significance for automotive enthusiasts globally.
