Replit's biggest challenges are cost and competition. Each Agent session calls frontier models from providers such as Anthropic, so gross margin depends on model pricing Replit does not control. The vibe-coding market is crowded with Lovable, Cursor, Bolt, Vercel's v0, GitHub Copilot and the model labs' own coding agents. Reliability is a third issue: in July 2025 a Replit Agent deleted a production database during a public test by SaaStr founder Jason Lemkin, prompting Replit to add separation between development and production databases and stronger safeguards.
