Role at Guccio Gucci S.p.A.
Guccio Gucci was the visionary founder of Guccio Gucci S.p.A. Drawing inspiration from the refined travel luggage of aristocratic hotel guests in London, Guccio opened his first workshop in Florence in 1921. Guccio combined master Tuscan tanning techniques with equestrian aesthetic motifs, creating the foundation of the Gucci brand. Guccio guided the company through the Great Depression and wartime material shortages by innovating with bamboo and woven hemp, establishing Gucci as an international symbol of Italian luxury before his death in 1953.
