V.S. Ramesh holds a degree in electronics engineering from Karnataka University, but his most defining professional background stems from his 20-year career serving in the Indian Navy. This extensive military background in highly disciplined, large-scale maritime logistics and massive personnel management provided him with the exact operational mastery required to manage BigBasket's sprawling, chaotic physical supply chain and nationwide delivery fleet.

V.S. Ramesh is a veteran logistics expert and one of the core co-founders of BigBasket. As part of the highly experienced founding quintet that had previously built Fabmart and Fabmall, Ramesh brought a uniquely disciplined, military-style approach to BigBasket's immense physical operations when the company launched in 2011. Tasked with managing the incredibly complex, localized fulfillment centers and the massive fleet of delivery personnel, Ramesh's operational leadership was the backbone of BigBasket's success. By ruthlessly optimizing the backend supply chain and ensuring high-efficiency localized delivery routing, he allowed the company to consistently achieve profitability in markets where competitors were burning through capital.
