Roy Nutt was a brilliant American computer scientist and the technical co-founder of Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a massive foundational pillar of the modern DXC Technology conglomerate. Partnering with Fletcher Jones in 1959, Nutt provided the absolute technical genius behind the company's early success. Before founding CSC, Nutt was already legendary in computing circles for his incredibly critical role at IBM, where he personally co-developed FORMAT, a massive foundational component of the groundbreaking FORTRAN programming language. At CSC, Nutt architected the highly complex compilers and operating systems that allowed the firm to completely dominate early enterprise software, cementing the massive technical infrastructure that eventually merged with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to create DXC.
