Pieter van der Does

Pieter van der Does is a seasoned Dutch payments executive with deep experience navigating the complex, fragmented European banking ecosystem. Before co-founding Adyen in 2006, he served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Bibit, an early international payment gateway that was ultimately acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland. At Bibit, he witnessed firsthand the catastrophic inefficiencies of legacy banking infrastructure, giving him the precise operational insight needed to build Adyen's unified, single-platform architecture from the ground up.

Pieter van der Does is the co-founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Adyen N.V. In 2006, frustrated by how legacy banks ruined Bibit's technology after acquiring it, van der Does partnered with Arnout Schuijff to build a new payment platform from scratch.
