Before co-founding Anthropic, she served as the Vice President of Safety and Policy at OpenAI, where she managed highly complex teams navigating the ethical implications of advanced AI. Her prior experience managing risk and operations at Stripe provided her with the crucial operational frameworks needed to build Anthropic into a highly structured, safety-obsessed organization.

Daniela Amodei is the co-founder and President of Anthropic PBC. Prior to co-founding Anthropic, she served as the Vice President of Safety and Policy at OpenAI, where she oversaw governance, safety research operations, policy implementation, and organizational scaling during OpenAI's hyper-growth transition. She previously held executive people and operations leadership roles at Stripe. At Anthropic, Daniela Amodei oversees global corporate operations, enterprise go-to-market strategy, institutional investor relations, government affairs, and public benefit compliance. Her strategic direction has been instrumental in engineering Anthropic's dual-cloud alliance with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, scaling the global workforce to over 1,500 personnel while preserving Anthropic's research-first culture and Public Benefit Corporation charter.
