Bipul Sinha

Bipul Sinha is the Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Rubrik. Raised in Bihar, India, Sinha earned a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Beginning his engineering career at Tata-IBM and American Megatrends, he spent nearly a decade at Oracle leading distributed systems and database infrastructure teams where he authored dozens of patents. Transitioning into venture capital, Sinha served as a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, leading foundational investments and serving on the boards of enterprise disruptors including Nutanix and PernixData. Recognizing that enterprise backup was a broken, thirty-year-old silo vulnerable to modern cyberattacks, Sinha incubated Rubrik inside Lightspeed's Menlo Park offices in 2014, steering the company through rapid hypergrowth, a successful $752 million NYSE IPO in April 2024, and its evolution into a premier Zero Trust data security platform.
