His critical formative experience included working in highly complex operations and supply chain management at Cambridge Systematics, where he first met Albinder Dhindsa. This deep, highly specialized background in optimizing massive, tangled urban logistics networks provided the exact operational blueprint required to build Grofers.

Saurabh Kumar is an Indian entrepreneur and the original co-founder of Grofers, the hyperlocal delivery startup that eventually morphed into the quick-commerce giant Blinkit. Kumar partnered with Albinder Dhindsa in 2013 to launch Grofers, initially focusing heavily on B2B logistics and helping unorganized local merchants digitize their delivery infrastructure. As Grofers aggressively scaled into a massive B2C consumer grocery app, Kumar served as the operational anchor, managing the insanely complex logistics of urban delivery networks. After dedicating eight years to building the company's foundational supply chain and navigating intense market wars, Kumar stepped down from his operational role in 2021, just prior to the company's massive pivot to Blinkit and subsequent acquisition by Zomato.
