Marius Jansen is a Dutch entrepreneur and the co-founder of Deribit, the undisputed market leader in cryptocurrency options trading. Partnering closely with his brother John Jansen, Marius helped conceptualize and launch the platform in 2016. While John provided the traditional trading expertise, Marius played an absolutely critical role in managing the company's rapid operational scaling and navigating the highly complex regulatory environment of offshore crypto derivatives. Together, the brothers grew Deribit from a small Dutch startup into a massive global behemoth that controlled the vast majority of Bitcoin options volume, eventually securing a massive $2.9 billion acquisition by Coinbase in 2025.
