Liang Rubo, born in 1983, is a Chinese software engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded ByteDance with Zhang Yiming. Liang met Zhang while studying at Nankai University, and the two shared a deep interest in computer science and internet technologies. Liang’s technical expertise was instrumental in the early development of ByteDance’s recommendation algorithms and the scaling of the company’s server infrastructure to handle the massive data loads generated by Toutiao, Douyin, and TikTok.
