Evan Spiegel

Evan Spiegel was born in 1990 in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Pacific Palisades. He attended Stanford University's product design program, where he developed the design philosophy and user research skills that would shape Snapchat's development. Spiegel grew up in a high-achieving professional family — his father Richard Spiegel is an attorney — and attended the exclusive Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica. His Stanford design education, which emphasizes empathy-driven product development and iterative prototyping, fundamentally shaped the product decisions he would make at Snap, including the foundational choice to prioritize emotional resonance over feature completeness.

Evan Spiegel co-founded Snap Inc in 2011 at age 21 and has served as its Chief Executive Officer since inception.
