Founding Story
Anders Wilhelmsen & Co. provided essential maritime expertise, operational discipline, and capital to launch Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in 1968. When partner lines sought to sell their stakes in 1988, the Wilhelmsen family partnered with the American Pritzker family to retain control and initiate the corporate modernization that led to the company's 1993 public listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
