Alex Yurkowski is a highly skilled software engineer and the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ClickUp, a massive, all-in-one productivity and project management platform. Yurkowski partnered with CEO Zeb Evans in 2017 while they were managing a marketing agency and struggling with severe 'tool sprawl'—using 15 different disjointed applications to manage a team of just 25 people. Frustrated by this massive inefficiency, Yurkowski engineered a custom internal tool designed to completely eliminate the need for toggling between apps like Jira, Asana, and Google Sheets. This internal tool was so highly effective that they pivoted to launch it publicly as ClickUp. As CTO, Yurkowski architected the incredibly complex, highly customizable backend that allowed ClickUp to rapidly scale into a multi-billion dollar enterprise.
