Alan Matthews

Alan Matthews co-founded Rapid7 in July 2000 and served as its initial Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Prior to establishing Rapid7, Matthews held senior executive leadership positions in enterprise software development and technology consulting. Matthews spearheaded the strategic vision of transforming complex network vulnerability assessment into an accessible, automated corporate discipline. During his tenure as CEO, he directed foundational venture capital financing, oversaw the landmark acquisition of the Metasploit Framework in 2009, and established Rapid7's long-term corporate headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, before handing over chief executive leadership to Corey Thomas.
